About the HISD Foundation
The HISD Foundation supports education in the largest public school district in the state and the 7th largest in the nation and partners with district leaders to secure private support manage funds and provide donor accountability. The Foundation’s fundraising efforts focus on institutional priorities set by the superintendent of schools and board of education. Funds raised by the HISD Foundation provide resources to advance the core initiatives of the district’s Strategic Direction. A separate 501 (c)(3), the Foundation is governed by a volunteer board of business, community and philanthropic leaders. The Foundation’s core programming is aligned with the district’s Strategic Direction and five core initiatives:

- Rigorous Instructional Standards and Supports
- Data-Driven Accountability
- Culture of Trust through Action
